Warangal is famous for its many tourist attractions which are rare in itself. Govindarajula Gutta Hill is the place where people like to go to enjoy the view from the hill. There is also a temple located on the top of the hill making it religiously significant. For all the astronomy enthusiasts Warangal Planetarium is located in the city. Pembarti is a small village located at a distance of about 60 Km from Warangal and is famous for its sheet metal art.

Warangal is heaven for all the wildlife enthusiasts as the place is surrounded by many lakes and wildlife sanctuaries. Eturnagaram Sanctuary is one of the most famous sanctuaries of Warangal. This sanctuary is located at a distance of about 110 Km from Warangal and is full of flora and fauna. Pakhal Wildlife Sanctuary is the other wildlife sanctuary located around the city of Warangal. Best thing about the wildlife sanctuaries of Warangal is that they all are surrounded by lakes; either man made or natural, which enhance the beauty of these places more. Some of the lakes worth a visit are Ramappa Lake, Pakhal Lake and Laknavaram Lake.

Just like any other place of South India, Warangal has many temples to explore. However, few temples of Warangal are unique in itself due to their ancient history. Thousand Pillar Temple, Ramappa Temple and Ghanpur Group of temples are the examples of such master pieces. All of these temples were built during the period of Kakatiya Dynasty and are still in their original form with some renovation work done. Bhadrakali Temple is another very famous temple of Warangal. Apart from these there are many other temples including Jain Temple, Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple, Siddeswara Temple, Sri Someswara Temple, Sri Veeranarayana Temple, The Swayambhu temple, Sri Vidya Saraswathi Shani Temple, ISKCON Warangal Temple, Padmakshi Temple and Rayaparthy Shiva Temple, are located within the city.

Kush Mahal and Warangal fort are the most famous monuments of Warangal. Warangal fort was built by Kakatiyan Rulers in 13th century and is the most famous attraction of Warangal city. You can’t escape this site while visiting Warangal. Its importance can be understood from the fact that the place comes under the list of Monument of National Importance by the Archeological Survey of India. As per the locals, Kush Mahal was built on the site of Kakatiya Palace and has impact of Tughlak Architecture. Both of these monuments are located within the city making them easily accessible for tourists.

Kakatiya rulers built many monument, lakes and gardens in this city. While looking at Warangal one can imagine the life of Kakatiya people.  There are famous gardens in the city that were built by Kakatiya rulers. First one is the Kakatiya Rock Garden while the other one is Kakatiya Musical Garden. The first one consists of many structures including lion, deer, sambar, giraffe etc. in the form of rock. Kakatiya musical garden is one of the main attractions of the city. The garden is spread across an area of 15 acres and is famous for its musical fountain show held every day.

By Air:Hyderabad International Airport is located at a mere distance of 150 Km from Warangal and one can take a bus, train or taxi from there to reach Warangal.

By Road: Warangal is well connected by road to all major cities of the country. APTDC runs busses across all the major cities within Andhra Pradesh and interstate bus facility is also available easily.

By Rail: Kazipet Junction Railway Station, which is situated in Kazipet city at a distance of about 13 Km from Warangal, is the biggest railway junction of India and is well connected to Warangal. It serves as a very important junction on Hyderabad-New Delhi-Vijayawada-Chennai-Kolkata. Significance of this junction can be understood from the fact that 132 trains daily passes through here.

The climate of Warangal can be expected hot and dry throughout the year. Monsoon months are from June to September while winter months are from November to February. Summers are very hot with the highest temperature of 42 degree Celsius. The average rainfall in this region is about 550 mm and the best time to visit the city is from October to March.
